Since I wrote this story, the company released its “Lovense Second Life Viewer.
Lovense Second Life Viewer
This new viewer is based on the original viewer from Linden Lap. The difference is a bottom in the menu, which lets you connect the Lovense Second Life viewer easily to your toy.
You click that open, and this window opens:
You take your phone and scan this code using the Lovense connect app. You will get then this window:
That’s it. You are ready to go. A word of caution: Switch off your animation override before connecting your Lovens toy. The viewer identifies the AO as a sex animation, and it starts going strong immediately.
Advantage of the Lovense Second Life Viewer
Using the Lovense Second Life Viewer gives you the possibility to use your Lovense toy in any sex situation inworld. It reacts to your avatar’s movements and does not rely on Lovense-enabled furniture. Also, the LoveBridge experience and HUD are no longer needed.
Downsides of the Lovense Second Life Viewer
The connection is volatile. It might well be that you lose the connection between the viewer and your toy several times during sex. This is, of course, utmost annoying.
The viewer lacks many features in preferences, such as RLV enabling. Also, private settings are not available at all. That raises, of course, some security concerns.

The Noob at Candy’s Sex Hotel
We do not have many new Second Life Residents visiting Candy’s All-Inclusive Sex Hotel (often referred to as “noobs”).
Hence, I was amazed that one of them had walked into the Hotel the other day. He signed up for Second Life just a week ago.

- You receive a “LoveBridge” hud, which automatically attaches to your viewer screen.
- You receive a Link in the local chat, which opens a webpage with a Lovens QR code
- Scan that code with your Lovense Connect app on your mobile phone
That’s it. Dead easy. The connection is just two clicks away.

It did work for him quickly.
Update 01/2024: The new bed versions no longer need a relay to connect your toy. You open the menu (left-click on the bed) and choose “LovenseSetup.” That gives you the QR code directly.

My biggest problem with the viewer is that it reacts to any animation. So that means your AO, walking, dancing and even if your hair has an animation to move it when you change style. All of it will trigger it.
I haven\’t tried it with the Lush, only the Nora so far but in terms of how it operates and how it reacts then there\’s really no comparison. I don\’t know how successful it will be though. From what I can see it is bringing new people to the grid. I\’ve had two in the last day come to me after reading my review on it asking for help to test it out. Both 1day old \’Noobs\’. So that\’s definitely a positive if it\’s going to populate the grid some more.
The lack of privacy preferences was obviously a worry. The entire viewer feels so stripped back. The good thing is that even not using the viewer doesn\’t leave anyone stranded because of Lovebridge and Debauchery etc. We\’re sort of in a state of \”best of both worlds\”. As much as the viewer controls the toy better, the alternatives are still amazing and you can use them on a viewer that has all of the missing features.
In an ideal world, Lovense will make the code for their Lovense integration open source. Which technically I think they should have done already? Unless they made some sort of agreement with LL. But if they do that then other viewers can integrate it into their code and we all win.
